Environmental management certified under ISO 14001
T&K TOKA has implemented an environmental management structure headed directly by its president and has a director appointed specifically for this area.
Its main production sites -the headquarters in Saitama (Miyoshi-Machi, Saitama Prefecture)) and the Shiga plant (Kusatsu-Shi, Shiga prefecture)- are certified under the ISO 14001 standard, which guarantees their commitment to continuous improvement in environmental matters.
Internal and external audits: control and continuous improvement
To ensure the effectiveness of its environmental management system, T&K TOKA conducts regular internal audits, carried out by certified personnel.
These reviews are complemented by annual external audits carried out by the Japan Quality Assurance Organisation (JQA), thus ensuring strict compliance with the ISO 14001 standard and the continuous improvement of its processes.
Continuous and digitised environmental training
Staff training is another key pillar. T&K TOKA promotes continuous environmental training, promoting official certifications and adapting to new contexts.
During the 2020 financial year, the company moved its training to digital and e-learning formats, including online seminars and content on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A comprehensive training plan is currently being developed to include all staff, without exception.
Commitment to regulations and zero sanctions
T&K TOKA carries out regular checks on air and water quality, odours, noise and vibrations, complying both with current legislation and with internal voluntary standards.
During FY2020, there were no violations or sanctions by regulatory authorities. The company continues to prioritise compliance as the foundation of its operations.
